Tokaji wines get their name from their region of origin, the Tokaji-Hegyalja wine region, located in North-Eastern Hungary.

Tokaji wines are very sweet, and their method of production is both traditional and prestigious. The grape varieties selected for the production of a Tokaji are rare, and benefit from a unique climate in their growing region. Tokaji was once described as "The king of wines, and the wine of kings".
