Made in the midst of nature.
Kalevala Gin is subtly sweet, with piney resiny juniper, and a pleasantly spicy, firey ginger touch to the finish.
Organic raspberry leaf, cardamom, mint, rosemary and of course juniper go into this micro-gin. Ginger and juniper are the main notes.
In order to get the optimum extraction of flavours from the ingredients, some botanicals are soaked in spirit before distillation. Other more delicate ingredients, like raspberry leaves, are placed in the top of the stills so that steam and alcohol vapours pass through them and take on their aromas.
This gin is organic, according to the EU agriculture scheme, certification number FI-EKO-301.
Kalevala Gin is made by a team of two. Made only in small amounts, it is distilled very gently over 12 hours, allowing precise control over the flavour. The water used to dilute the strong distillate down to drinking strength is drawn from the distillery’s own well, pure and soft water. Bottled by hand.
