Amber-coloured Calvados with complex and balanced aromas. Its fruit flavours melt into an intense taste of wood and spices. Well-rounded, great length in the mouth.
After having been distilled and aged for 15 years in oak casks, its impeccable quality can be explained by Maison Toutain's profound expertise, and the fact they produce their Calvados according to time-honoured, traditional techniques.
You will love the authentic taste of this Calvados - we guarantee it!
Calvados Toutain acquires its delicate amber colour after a long aging in hundred years old oak barrels.
At the Domaine de la Couterie, the Toutain family produces calvados since five generations, respecting customs and traditions that create great names from small productions.
Lilian Toutain, his daughter Corinne, and his grandson Maxime work together on a 62 acres property divided into 2 parts: one located in the Calvados AOC and one in the Calvados Pays d'Auge AOC.
The Toutain family uses its ancestral knowledge about the characteristics of each variety of apple going into the making of cider. They use in total 20 varieties of apples for the Calvados Toutain. After distillation, the calvados is colourless. It needs to mature and age in oak barrels for at least two years.
Pure before eating or as a digestif.
Nose: flavours of fresh apples
Mouth: dominance of wood and spices, beautiful balance between the notes of fruit and that of wood.
Finish: a delightful length.
