Chartreuse Verte - 70cl

I live in the USA and love buying from Absinthes. Chartreuse is my favorite spirit and there isn’t a better place to buy it from. Cheers!!

same as with the 35cl bottle. we love this stuff. The 35cl bottle is easier to take with us when we travel.

I was first recommended Chartreuse by a coworker who got a bottle as a gift. Upon never hearing about it before, I looked it up and read about the interesting story of the monks developing this in the early 1600s and how only two monks at one time since its creation know the complete recipe, and how it contained over 100 different herbs, spices, roots, and flowers. It honestly sounded right up my alley since I tend to like herbal liquors. However, upon trying it, I was a little taken back by the complexity of flavors. I tried it again and again, then I realized that it's so hard to identify the different herbal flavors in this drink because it is overpowered by sugars. In fact, this drink (straight on the rocks) is straight up syrupy after a few sips and becomes undesirable to finish. I don't want to totally knock this drink. I've read there are many ways to prepare this in mixed drinks. I've tried adding it to various juices, teas, sodas, etc. but every time, I was disappointed. Even the feeling I got from it just felt very heavy, lethargic, and gave me a real brain-fog kind of feeling, it also has a reputation for leaving you with terrible hangovers if you aren't too careful. I really wanted to like this drink, but between the flavor profile, sugar content, and feeling (even with a light buzz), it just wasn't my thing. After trying absinthe, I strongly prefer that over Chartreuse. It has a much fresher, cleaner, and energetic kind of feeling for me, and it's delicious.

It is a very good product. Smooth taste and the green color is nice too.

Been buying this for some time. As usual the delivery was swift and painless. Green Chartreuse is a wonderful herbal liqueur. If you haven't tried it you should. Well reccomended.

This drink is like candy! It's 55% (so that means 110 proof), but it doesn't burn at all, on the contrary it leaves me with a feeling of serenity and calmness that can only be described as walking in a field of wildflowers on the edge of a forest ... The notes are too diverse to explain, they can only be felt ... It is not my go to drink by any means and I've tried different mixes but it has only paired well with ciders for my taste ... However you drink this, go for it, but go through at least a few shots neat, close your eyes, and try to dissect the multitudes of nature hidden by these monks who felt the breath of God while enjoying this drink!

An excellent liquer. Very rich taste and aroma. I enjoy it neat, or sometimes dilute it with a good gin and I quite love the combination! More "sharp" and "edgy" than the yellow (jeune). Lots of herbs that create a unique taste: strongly herbal and a bit spicy. Quite a kick from the alcohol though!
It also gets better with time. Leave an unopened bottle to rest for 5-10 years and it will become somehow more elegant and mellow, all the herbs will tie together even more and very nicely, revealing an enchanting character!


*I found a batch of four bottles (two green, two yellow) in 2013, left in a cellar since the early 1990's and I can personally guarantee that it's really something extraordinary!! I bought the other three right away, after tasting the first one!!

A fine liqueour, spicy unique taste maybe circulating around the flavor of Jagermeister but with a more vivid coloration. Very healthy as an apéritif, excellent with desserts.
