La Maison Fontaine Chocolate Liqueur is a registered trademark of Metropolitan Spirits Ltd.
“Les fils d'Emile Pernot” distillery was founded in 1890 in Pontarlier, France, by Emile Pernot. In 1910, the distillery produced approximately 450 hectolitres; that is not surprising, because in those days, the consumption of absinthe was making good progress.
When “Fee Verte” was banned in 1915, the distillery turned its production to other products such as those made from aniseed, fruit brandies or alcohol made from gentian.
In 2001 the small distillery started to reproduce absinthe with “Un Emile” from an old family recipe.
In 2005, the distillery was sold to François Thevenin, who has since developed the firm to add a touch of modernity.
A year later, at the end of 2006, François Thevenin bought the Klainguer distillery, also situated in Pontarlier, and formed the Pernot – Klainguer distillery.
Fontaine Chocolat is the perfect after dinner drink to enjoy neat or poured over ice. It is also a wonderfully versatile liqueur that can be mixed into an array of sublime cocktails.
La Maison Fontaine Chocolat & Seasalt
La Maison Fontaine Chocolat is served chilled over ice, with a touch of Maldon sea-salt.
The liquid is poured into a stemless wine glass, over ice, & served with a pinch of salt
over the top.

Nice but it doesn't have any recognisable flavour. Good when mixed with other things though!

Being a lover of sweet things, this liqueur is perfect for me. I'm just about to re-order and I'm sure I will be ordering more than one bottle. Whilst it is sweet, the unmistakeable taste of absinthe is very evident also. I like to finish a fine meal with this drink.

Nice surprise and a big hit at the party. The ladies prefer this far above absinthe proper - very good neat or mixed with mixers (LOL). Will order this again and again - wicked selecta !!!

It is as stated, a wonderful after dinner drink, if you like chocolate and you like a good wormwood bomb in your absinthe (although not an absinthe) a definite must try. I thought it was best over ice.
