Absinthe La Valdetra Verte - 20cl

First time drinking this absinthe, quite enjoyed it.

A complex and flavorful absinthe. Starts off lime green and then turns a light minty green when it produces it's milky louche. Green anise on the aroma with fennel undertones and an herbal note of wormwood. Flavor is interesting as I did notice some fresh basil and spearmint along with the anise and fennel. This is more of a boldly flavored absinthe verte. Finishes with a pleasent bite from the wormwood. I used half a sugar cube when I poured it. I would definitely recommend giving it a go. I certainly enjoyed it.

A very enjoyable glass! I blame only myself when I say I still prefer the Jade 1901. I will say that the Valdetra Verte has piqued my interest to sample more of Gaudentia Persoz Distillery's offerings!

My entire order is a gift. I have not tasted any of my order - yet... I look forward to tasting Absinthe in the future and liked the careful way the order was shipped. All items arrived in good shape.

Wow, this is a great absinthe!
I know a lot of work went into making this, and it shows.
A beautiful green colour before water is added, a thick opalescent louche that builds fast when dripping cold water. (In my case with a wonderful see-saw dripper, wich it self is sort of a fast dripper.)
Not a lot of aroma in the air, but still a very pleasant one.
The taste is exquisite and complex. There's a lot going on here. Anis and fennel is prominent, but in no way overpowering.
After a couple of sips other herbs is coming thru, delicate and almost floral. Semi-sweet and no bitterness at all.
I mixed it 2,5/1 with no sugar.
Excellent absinthe!

It´s okey absinthe, but the best I have ever tried is the new Swedish absinthe from the destillery Svensk Absint, called Grön Opal, that absinthe is so near the orginal absinthe from the late 18th century and I can recommend it. I hope you soon can sell it here:-) because it´s so hard to find.

What can I say? I'm developing my palate right now and this stuff is rocking me after a glass and a half:) The taste is reminiscent of Roquette 1797. This elixir is smooth, probably one of the smoothest I have tried (I've tried around 25).

Tops all the absinthes I have tried so far, and that's about 9 different Swiss and French ones. Had a suspicion about how natural the color is as it comes in a clear bottle, but that is a minor issue for me. What counts for me is taste and mouth feel.

Best overall absinthe out of the 32 that i've tried!
