Die Grüne Fee Distribution GmbH stands for original, handcrafted Swiss absinthe products from the Val-de-Travers. Preserving the authenticity and originality of Swiss absinthe is something very close to the company's founders hearts. This is why their products are made entirely by small-scale producers using natural ingredients, sustainable processes and artisan skills. Their producers have been distilling absinthe as long as they can remember, always according to the old family traditions and the recipes of the Belle Epoque. They almost exclusively use herbs from the Val-de-Travers, which are distilled using age-old methods in small alembics.
- At first, savour Boheme without any sugar. Then according to your taste, add some eventually.
- For one measure of absinthe (3cl), add 2 to 5 measure of fresh water.
- You can use an absinthe dripper that prepares your glass of Boheme while you sit back and watch the water drip slowly.
The distillery of Philippe Martin is situated in Boveresse, in the Val-de-Travers, the birthplace of absinthe and today home to some of the finest absinthe distilleries.
Philippe Martin distills his absinthes in an old house known to locals as La Maison des Chats, a centuries-old building decorated with stone sculptures of cats. Right opposite is the distillery's own garden, where most of the herbs used for Philippe’s absinthe is cultivated.
Philippe took over the distillery from his father Francis Martin in 2014, who distilled for 33 years during the time of the absinthe ban in Switzerland. When absinthe was re-legalized in 2005, Francis received a licence to produce absinthe legally.

At first, when I poured them side by side, I was thinking that the more subdued color of the Boheme meant that it was going to be a lighter style and would not compare to the Sade. Seconds later, the aromas from the Boheme glass hit me. This Absinthe has even more powerful aromas than the Sade, despite the illusion created (for me) by a lighter color. I added nearly frozen distilled water at a ratio of 5:1 and as I lifted the dripper from the glass, the very powerful aromas were able to escape and fill the room with their intense perfume. It was at this point I realized how magnificent this Absinthe was going to be! My apartment smelled like an Alpine Meadow! This is a more traditional manifestation of Absinthe than the Sade, but done on a level which I don't think I have experienced before. It's powerful, seamless and creamy. It's loaded with minty Wormwood and is complemented perfectly with all the layers of flavor that other 11 herbs bring to the party. The flavors, like the aromas, are redolent of an Alpine Meadow. It's complex, concentrated and the mouthfeel is creamy& numbing at the same time. This is another masterpiece and certainly top 3 of all the Absinthe I've had the pleasure of experiencing in the last 10 years. These are expensive bottles but well worth the extra money. Not exactly an everyday drinker but when it's time to share the best with friends and family, this is most certainly one of 3 or 4 bottles that are on the table.

A suttle, but yet in your thoughts absinthe! Im loving it, I prefer the Sade personally over this but this is still what i would say is for true Absinthe imbibers. No SUGAR as i always do. Sweet and constant kick of mint with a thick layering aftertaste of anise, numbing, that sends you floating back to the fountain again. Winning. CHEERS!
