Chocolate aromas dominate Xocolatl Mole bitters, but cinnamon and other herbs also occupy their own space in the aroma just as the essence of Mexican mole sauce is to mix flavors while allowing each one its own independence on the palate.
The original idea was to combine this chocolate bitter with cask aged tequila. It turns out that dark spirits like cask aged rum, bourbon, and rye pair wonderfully instead. Otherwise there are countless cocktails using these extraordinary drops and it of course complements certain desserts perfectly (see cocktail with Bittermens Xocolatl Mole Bitters).
The design of Xocolatl Mole Bitters' unique packaging immediately catches the eye: Bittermens' typical cobalt blue bottle, with 118 ml of contents, a pipette style dropper top and a secure lid.
This kind of bottle allows you to dose the bitters in very exact measure, which is extremely important for this intensely aromatic cocktail bitters. 4 to 6 drops correspond to a dash, making it straightforward to measure out this cocktail bitter.

The recipe for Xocolatl Mole was designed with an eye on the traditional Mexican mole recipe.
The term mole originates from Aztec language and can be loosely translated as sauce or mix.
Like all bitters from Bittermens Bitters, Xocolatl Mole is produced in a distillery in Brooklyn, New York using traditional distillation process.
Carefully chosen plant materials are macerated in flavor neutral grain alcohol in this case the ingredients are chocolate, cinnamon, and other spices.
Use it to enhance the flavor and aroma of your beverages and dishes.
Bittermens Bitters are produced in Louisiana using traditional hand-crafted methods. That means that the mixture of high alcohol-percentage macerate is mixed with carefully chosen plant material to produce the resulting bitters. This raw material carries in most cases a Bio seal of approval, or is simply gathered from the wild. Bittermens Bitters are also not sweetened by any pre-processed ingredients or colored with artificial colorings. Special mention should be given to the pipette-style bottle-top which makes for easy usage. Similar to Bob’s Bitters this special bottle-top significantly eases dosage.
